Summary:
Based on the general policy analysis presented in the Synthesis and Sectoral and Thematic Studies volumes of the OECD reports on regulatory reform, this country study assesses the progress Italy has made in conforming to recommended neoliberal regulatory reforms and privatizations. Chapters look at the macroeconomic context of reform; governance and market reforms; the role of competition policy; and privatization of energy, railroad, and telecommunications sectors. Recommendations for further neoliberal reforms are presented. Annotation copyrighted by Book News, Inc., Portland, OR
