Presentation begins with the theory of curves in n-dimensional Euclidean space, then moves on to consider submanifolds, hypersurfaces in Euclidean space and in Riemannian space, two-dimensional surfaces in four-dimensional Euclidean space, minimal submanifolds, the Grassmann image of a submanifold, and regular polyhedra in E4 and EN. Material on isometric immersions of Lobachevski space into Euclidean space is introduced non-traditionally with descriptions of meetings between the author and his teachers. Includes exercises. Aminov is a researcher at the Institute for Low Temperature Physics and Engineering of the Ukrainian Academy of Science, Ukraine. c. Book News Inc.
