Summary:
This collection of essays traces the history of the Target Oriented Curriculum, and the impact of reform on the education system, subjects, schools and teachers in Hong Kong based on a four-year research project. Rather than merely reporting the results of the research (which appeared in earlier evaluation reports), the essays address critical issues raised by the TOC related to teaching, school organization, and the nature of classroom interaction. Two of the editors are specialists in curriculum studies at the U. of Hong Kong (most of the contributors are members of this department as well), the third works in Hong Kong's department of education. Distributed by ISBS. c. Book News Inc.
