- Summary:
- Dana (University of Canterbury) argues that future economic development will favor countries with three key resources: mineral and solar energy, cheap but skilled labor, and access to information technologies. With this in mind, he describes the economies of Albania, Cyprus, Egypt, the Hellenic Republic, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, Turkey, and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. In each case he considers important factors like cultural values, infrastructure, the legal environment, policy reforms, the availability of credit, tourism, war, the condition of women, agriculture, business incentives, the workforce, and the small business sector. A separate chapter describes the Bazaar economy. c. Book News Inc.
