Summary:
This study represents the findings of a study on problems and contraints of accessing the justice delivery system as experienced by women in Malawi. The objectives were: to uncover and analyse the structures that women use in search of justice; to examine the physical and administrative accessibility of the structures; to examine the personnel working in such structures/agencies and their competence; to discharge their duties in terms of gender sensitve attitudes, academic and professional qualifications; to analyse the facilities available for giving legal aid and assistance and their effectiveness in bringing the law close to women; to analyse the quality of such legal services as are given or are available to women outside the legal aid.
