- Summary:
- This collection of essays and reports were contributed by the colleagues of Professor Gunnar Dybwad on the occasion of his 90th birthday to celebrate his lifetime of work with persons who have intellectual limitations, their families and the professionals who have provided service and support to them. The 24 papers present the very broad range of his contributions and the ground breaking work that continues to be done in so many places. The papers are in areas such as legal issues to free persons with intellectual limitations from deadend lives in closed institutions to living normal lives in their community, engaging in self advocacy on their own behalf and with the concerns of their families. His arena spanned the globe: in Europe, Africa, the Americas, the Far East.
