Summary:
This book deals with three broad themes central to Jean Piaget's description of children's intellectual development but which are often neglected in favor of his empirical studies. These include biological satisfaction, escape from domination, and changing cognitive capabilities. Chapters combining discussion of each theme with references to Piaget's empirical findings are followed by a reinterpretation of many of the most famous "anti-Piaget" findings in the literature. A final chapter evaluates the attractive features and problems of the themes.
