Summary:
Ballad about a hidden love.
Notes:
Verse - "Oh so ungrateful a creature,".
Between the lines "appears a true pattern of loyalty" and "To an excellent new tune, sung at court" is a stanza in two columns, beginning with "Alas! in vain he did complain,".
At end of the title is "This may be printed, R. P.".
In four columns with the title, preliminary verse and two woodcuts above the first two; two other woodcuts head the remaining columns; the first and second as well as the third and fourth columns are separated by ornamental rules.
Filmed copy at Adam Matthew's set Women Advising Women: Part 5: Women's writing and advice, c1450-1720, reel 3, Douce Ballads 2[19], appears to be a variant with some different spelling, without an order to print at end of title, etc.
