Summary:
Recognition and understanding of the special nutrition problems of the aged is changing along with the growing number of the elderly in the general population. In the eight years since the first edition of the Handbook of Nutrition in the Aged was originally published, both economic changes and health issues have contributed to the decreasing nutritional intake among the aged.
