Summary:
Manuscript recipe book written in a blank account book by Louise Clarke Gunn of the Richmond, Va. area whose name is written on front endleaf. In addition to manuscript recipes for cakes, breads, preserves, pickles, wines, salads, and luncheon dishes, there are numerous recipes from newspaper clippings pasted in and laid in. Recipes are attributed to Mrs. John Randolph Tucker, Anne Dickenson Woodward, Virginia Clarke Taylor, and one is written on the back of a wedding invitation from Clairborne Randolph Watkins. Pasted onto the inside lower cover is a pamphlet "Food Conservation by the James River Garden Club," printed by Whittet & Shepperson, Richmond, Va., 1917, with a preface by Juanita Massie Patterson, president. 34 leaves are laid in comprising recipes in several hands, clippings dated to 1958, and a mimeographed "Herb Chart."

Cloth binding, tearing at the spine, leaves are brittle.
