- Summary:
- From the December 1997 workshop Carbon Pools and Dynamics in Tropical Ecosystems, held in Belem, Brazil, 22 papers assess carbon pools in soils and biomass of the region, evaluate the magnitude of change between natural and managed ecosystems, determine the impact of anthrogenic activities and land use, evaluate carbon dynamics in relation to soil quality and agricultural production, and identify methodological and modeling potentials and constraints for further research. The contributors are from ten tropical and temperate countries.
