- Summary:
- Tanks in the jungle? Although this is not an image that springs to mind when thinking of the Vietnam War, armored cavalry forces were used extensively throughout the country. In 1966 Lieutenant Paul D. Walker arrived in Vietnam and was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 4th Cavalry, the armored cavalry of the 1st Infantry Division, the famed ''Big Red 1." During this time the Quarter Car as it was known roamed the roads of III Corps, particularly War Zone C, north and east of Saigon near the Cambodian border. Heavy combat was commonplace as the Big Red 1 battled the 9th Viet Cong Division for control of the area.
- Replete with the coming of age insights and leadership lessons that have made books like Platoon Leader perennial favorites, Jungle Dragoon delivers a exciting story of living on the edge, living in battle.
