Summary:
This new book is based on John Money's concept of the "lovemap, " which is a mental template of each person's idealized erotic or sex life. It is written for sexologists, sex therapists, psychotherapists, criminologists, counselors, teachers, and anyone who wants or needs to learn about a fascinating field. The lovemap encodes either normal or pathological desires. From this latter point of view, Money covers so-called paraphilias (from the ancient Greek meaning "altered love"), formerly known as fetishes, in unprecedented detail. The reader will discover a range of sexual behavior, from normal eccentricities to the pathological. Money advocates investigative nonjudgmentalism in order to discover the cause and cure of pathological lovemaps.
