Summary:
Hill went to sea with the British Navy at age 17, retired as rear admiral working in the Ministry of Defense, pursued naval law for a few years, and has been writing naval books since. Here he explores what happened after a British warship captured an enemy warship, a neutral suspected of running contraband, or a privateer, on the high seas. There were plenty of legal procedures to go through, he shows, before the captors saw their prize money.
