Penn Libraries Lea copy bound in full vellum with evidence of ties; ms. author, title, place and date of publication on spine; Henry Charles Lea's autograph (1889) on front cover and his bookplate affixed to inside front cover.
Penn Libraries Lea copy has covers and backstrip detached and affixed to textblock with modern tape; leaves dampstained at head and tail margins throughout; dampstaining to lower portion of leaves at beginning and end of volume; occasional wormholes in tail margin.
Penn Libraries Lea copy: a gathering of four leaves (signed with a section mark; foliated 5-8 in ms.) titled "De imaginatione sphere" has been inserted between leaves A4 and B1; it contains two texts: "De recta imaginatione sphaerae" by Thabit ibn Qurra and "Theorica planetarum", here attributed to Joannes Cremonensis.
Penn Libraries Lea copy has ms. notes amplifying contents list on title leaf; occasional ms. marginal notes and marks in three different hands in text.
Penn Libraries Lea copy has some expurgations on leaves A3-D3: the offending passages have been struck through and were at one point papered over (cf. remains on leaves A3v and D3r), the removal of which paper has usually damaged the leaf; most of these expurgations are accompanied by ms. marginal notes, primarily in a single hand (the expurgator's?), pointing them out.
