Summary:

Dendritic cells are the most potent antigen-presenting cells of the immune system. They can be used as stimulators of the immune response to tumor and infectious disease antigens, including antigens from HIB, TB, and Hepatitis. Dendritic cells have enormous applications in cancer, infectious diseases, and transplantation; therefore, their potential use as cellular vaccines has generated a great deal of excitement.
