In the midst of title for December 21, 1774, Numb. 1672, is a woodcut device of a snake divided into 9 parts, with motto: Unite or die, a version of an earlier device with a similar image and the motto: Join, or die, originally published in the May 9, 1754 number of the Pennsylvania Gazette.
Suspended publication Nov. 27, 1776-Jan. 29, 1777.
Issue for Mar. 31, 1779 numbered 1282 instead of 1822; error perpetuated for rest of run.
