Biography/History:

Forsdyke was commissioned as a Veterinary Surgeon with the rank of Lieutenant by the British Army on 14 May 1879. At his retirement (ca. 1910) he held the rank of Colonel. Forsdyke served in the Afghan War (1880-1881); took part in the operations of the Bozder Field Force (1881); served during operations in Chitral (1895); served on the N.W. Frontier of India (1897-1998); served in the South African War (1899-1902).

Summary:

This bound volume comprises printed reports and one manuscript report of the Veterinary Department of the British Army with manuscript annotations and table of contents. It also includes manuscript copies of (1) "Notes on Shipping of Horses etc. Copied from the Official Record of the Expedition to Abysinnia" and (2) "Extracts from the story of the British Campaign in Abyssinia. 1868. By Henry M. Stanley. Special Correspondent of the New York Herald."
