Summary:
ISCCP, designed to produce a 5 year global cloud climatology database by an international array of geostationary and polar orbiting meteorological satellites, has been extended twice to a collection period of 17 years. It provides reduced resolution, infrared or visible, calibrated or normalized, radiance data from which cloud parameters can be derived; coordinates such techniques; and promotes research to improve understanding of earth's radiation budget and hydrological cycle.
