- Summary:
- This evaluation of the potential for reform of the institutions of the international economic order was prompted by the 50th anniversary of the Bretton Woods Conference which led to the establishment of the International Monetary System. This book includes a study of long-term trends in the international economy, including the place of the European Union within it, and the need for institutional change in a changing world. An absorbing part of the work is devoted to the analysis of "clusters," the links between, for example, the environment and development, trade and finance or the relationship of finance and macroeconomics to structural adjustment, trade and investment.
