Summary:
Ch. 13 (pp. 281-327), "Defamation as Diplomacy: Anti-Semitism at the UN, " traces the developments leading to the 1975 resolution equating Zionism with racism, reactions to it, and its effects. States that anti-Zionism is inseparable from antisemitism, and that the PLO has frequently expressed antisemitic statements. Argues that the UN was both a forum and an instigator of antisemitic motions, based on Soviet or Islamic fundamentalist propaganda. Describes discriminatory trends against Jews occupying UN administrative posts. Jewish non-governmental organizations (NGOs) have also been attacked.
