Summary:

Martin Ormandy, joined by his daughter Dolores Ormandy Neumann discusses his family background, how he and his brothers Eugene and Laszlo were raised in Hungary, how and when the brothers emigrated to the United States, the origins of the name Ormandy and reasons why the family changed their name from Blau to Ormandy. Martin Ormandy also discusses various aspects of his brother Eugene's career as violinist and conductor, including his work at the Capitol Theater in New York and his position as conductor with the Minneapolis Symphony. Among other people mentioned during the interview are Leopold Stokowski, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Zoltan Kodaly, Bela Bartok, Jenö Hubay, and the two wives of Eugene Ormandy, Steffi and Gretel.
