- Comprises 4 letters (three are typecript copies, not originals) from H. C. Lea to Mitchell. Correspondence between Arthur H. Lea and S. Weir Mitchell (1909-1912) concerns the H. C. Lea memorials and H. C. Lea's health (including Mitchell's medical notes on an incident in July 1899 when Lea suffered memory loss, this folder also has a copy of Charles M. Lea's recollection of the same event).
- Also includes an obituary of Mitchell from the Nation (8 January 1914) and a printed copy of Mitchell's address "On opening of the Institute of Hygiene of the University of Pennsylvania," (Philadelphia, 1892). The Institute of Hygiene was built with funding provided by H. C. Lea.
