Summary:
According to ancient Egyptian myth, the sun god, who brings light to the world, is born anew every morning, travels through the heavens by boat during the day, and enters the underworld by night. A goddess, Sekhmet, is said to slaughter criminals and rebellious humans, sometimes using disease as her messenger. Other myths hold that a jury of underworld gods, including Osiris, determines whether a human will be condemned after death for sins.
These incredible stories are all found in The Way to Eternity: Egyptian Myth, an exciting new book that explores ancient Egyptians, dual fascination with the physical world and life after death.
