Summary:

The Great Temple at Dendara has fascinated egyptologists for much of this century. The hieroglyphs of Dendara I, the chief centre for sacrifice in the temple of Hathor, are here presented in French facing-page translation, rendering them accessible to a wider audience. This is the first in a collection providing an interpretation of texts at religious sites (Dendara I-IV). Translations of inscriptions at cultic and other sites in Dendara are to follow.
