- Summary:
- This 63-page study highlights the devastating eleven-year drought that occurred in the Apalachicola-Chattahoochee- Flint River basin during the 1980's, affecting Alabama, Georgia and Florida. Spanning a period of four years, the study focuses on the reactions of various governmental agencies and non-governmental organizations to the drought. The authors thoroughly explain the nature of this survey, conducted to learn how farmers and other water users managed the crisis, and to document the measures individuals took to help mitigate its effects.
