Summary:
In Receptor Dynamics in Neural Development the reader will find many of the concepts we had hoped to address in the original article. Some of these are the focus of several chapters. This is not to suggest that the book merely reflects my views and those of my colleagues about the interrelationship of receptors and neural activity in nervous system development. Indeed, the various contributors have ensured that different points of view are presented and that controversial, often competing, ideas are proposed. What should stand out, however, is the truly dynamic nature of receptors in neural development viewed from the various perspectives. I believe the other thing that will stand out is the quality of the chapters achieved by all of the contributors.
