Summary:
The creators of A Sea of Words now follow up with Harbors and High Seas, an invaluable tool for navigating the often uncharted terrain of the Aubrey-Maturin novels. For each novel in the series, renowned naval cartographer William Clipson has created maps depicting the routes of voyages taken and locating the sites of major battles, storms, landings, crossings, and other events. Locations of major importance are further described throughout the text. Additional original maps are devoted to London and the British Isles, the political landscape during the Napoleonic Wars, and important wind patterns and currents. Period maps and illustrations are accompanied by descriptive captions from The Naval Chronicle, revealing what Jack Aubrey himself might have been reading at the time.
