- Based on the legal, historical and social background of abortion in the UK, this book examines the wider issues that contribute to an unwanted pregnancy and a woman's decision about termination. Joanna Brien and Ida Fairbairn provide information on how to answer questions regarding methods of abortion and the development of the fetus, and give advice on how to structure sessions to meet the particular needs of each client. Guidance is given on dealing with special situations, such as a client who is HIV positive, a victim of rape or suffering from depression.
