The Bambergensis constitutio criminalis was compiled by Johann von Schwarzenberg and was first printed by Hans Pfeil in Bamberg, 1507. Upon this editio princeps the present edition is based. No ms. copies of it have as yet been discovered.

The "Correctorium" contains practical illustrations or modifications of the Bambergensis, issued between 1508 and 1530 for the use of the Bamberg courts. Only two copies are known, one of which is a ms. apendix to the Bambergensis (John Schöffer, Mainz, Mitfasten, 1508) now in the Kantons bibliothek, Zurich, the other occurs in an interleaved edition of the Bambergensis (Ivo Schöffer, Mainz, 1538) in the K. Kreisarchiv, Bamberg.

The Low German translation of the Bambergensis was made by Hermann Barkhusen and was published for the first time by him at Rostock, 1510.
