An Essay on a method of finding the solid contents of packages by an easy addition of three numbers only : recommended to the consideration and use of the merchants of Great-Britain, masters of ships and others concerned in the exportation of merchandize : as also to all such as make use of cross-multiplication, the business of it being performed hereby with great facility, correctness and dispatch : to which is added the further use of this method in casting up goods valued by the hundred weight, gauging of casks, proportioning of vessels and solids, &c. : the whole entirely new, and tho' principally intended for the man of business, may not be unworthy the perusal of the mathematician.
