Issue number 237 ([25 or 26] December 1938) contains a message that in the new year [1939], the title is to change to "al-Ithnayn wa-al-Dunyā" and that details are to be printed in the next issue. Issue number 238 contains the announcement that starting on al-Aḥad [Sunday], 8 January 1939, the publication is to feature the new title "al-Ithnayn wa-al-Dunyā" (formed by a consolidation of "al-Ithnayn" and "al-Dunyā": "al-Dunyā" appears to allude to other publications (discontinued) by Dār al-Hilāl, "Kull shayʼ wa-al-Dunyā" and "al-Dunyā al-muṣawwarah"). The next issue, numbered 239 and dated 9 January 1939 [Monday] on its cover (but erroneously numbered 240 in its running title), bears the title "al-Ithnayn wa-al-Dunyā". Issues in 1941 and 1942 possess the title "al-Ithnayn" on their covers, but their running titles and titles in roman script indicate that the name of the periodical by that time should be understood as "al-Ithnayn wa-al-Dunyā."

Formed by the union of al-Kawākib and al-Fukāhah in 1934; continued in 1939 by al-Ithnayn wa-al-Dunyā.
