- From 1892-1920 reports no longer cover the official year, Apr. to Mar. inclusive, but a special forest year from 1 July to 30 June; accordingly, the issue for 1892/93 covers fifteen months. Report year, 1921-, ends Mar. 31.
- From 1907/08 to 1914/15, separate forest administration reports by Conservators of Forests in Central, Northern, Southern Circles; from <1911/12> also from Western Circle. Circles termed First to Sixth, 1921-<1925/26>. Issued in 2 v. for each year from 1923/24-<1925/26> the first constituting the Chief Conservator of Forests' review of progress and the second, reports of the Conservators of Forests of each of the six Circles.
- For each year to 1891 the whole work consists of: forest administration reports, forwarded to the Commissioners of Land Revenue; the proceedings of the Board of Revenue (Land Revenue) in consideration of these reports, submitted with them to the Madras Government; and an order of the Governor in Council in response.
