Contains 16th and 17th cent. sacred polyphony (principally), instrumental dance music, settings of Hungarian and Romanian folk music, and organ (keyboard) music. The ms. is considered to reflect foreign and indigenous aspects of musical life in 17th-century Hungary, in a territory occupied by the modern states of Romania (Transylvania), Hungary, and Slovakia.
