Translation of Recueil des histoires de Troyes.
Reproduces the text of Caxton's edition, published in 1474, which was the first book printed in English.

Printed in an edition 300 copies on paper and 5 on vellum.
Paged continously.
Printed in red and black, richly ornamented with woodcut entrellic initials and borders.
Caption title in black on floral border with woodcut border.
Printer's device follows the colophon.
Gothic type. The body of the book in "Troy" type designed by Morris in 1891; the table of chapters and glossary in the smaller "Chaucer" type cut in 1892. The first book in which both types appear.
