Gershwin, Mozart, Kodály, Wagner and Richard Strauss.
"What is a melody": How are fragments of tunes woven into melody and simultaneous melodies used to create counterpoint? Includes excerpts from Prelude to Tristan und Isolde (Wagner), Symphony no. 40 (Mozart), Concert music for strings and bass (Hindemith), and Symphony no. 4 (Brahms).
