Part 1 is a search for the "lost" gypsy tribes of Egypt and traces their route from their origin in India into Egypt and then to Spain. Part 2 goes to India and to Eastern Europe to the oppressed gypsy communities of then-Communist Europe. Both parts contain extensive sections of the music and dance of these communities.
