A reaffirmation, dated 2 October, 1753, of the Arrêts and Arrêtés of 21 May and 7 and 27 June, reiterating the necessity for clerks to conform to the laws of the Church and state and not to do anything which would result in schism, i.e. not to refuse the sacraments to anyone on suspicion of Jansenist tendancies or to require subscription to an "arbitrary" (anti-Jansenist) formula of faith.
