- The counterfeit edition may be distinguished by the capital B in the word "Lebens-Beschreibung" (the original has Lebensbeschreibung) in the fourth line of the title; the "normalized" edition has Courage spelled with a g (in the original and counterfeit editions Courasche) and the frontispiece signed "A. Aubry fecit" is re-engraved from the unsigned frontispiece of the counterfeit edition.
