Notes:
"This satirical ecologue has been referred to Rodrigo Cota, and, like many other anonymous works, it has been ascribed to Mena. Neither conjecture is supported by evidence, and Sarmiento's ascription of Mingo Revulgo to Hernando del Pulgar, who wrote an elaborate commentary on it, rests on the puerile assumption that ʻnone but the poet could have commented himself with such clearness.̓"--Kelly, A history of Spanish literature, p. 110-111.
