Summary:

Mukul Dey, Indian artist and collector of Indian art, met Zigrosser in New York. Zigrosser and Dey exchanged letters over the next 50 years (with a gap in the letters from 1925 to 1945). Dey writes about travel in India, his training in London at the Royal College of Art, the progress of his own art and his growing collection of Indian art. After World War II, Dey wrote Zigrosser looking for wealthy persons or institutions in America to purchase his collection, and the file of letters contains 8 printed catalogs listing parts of Dey's very large collection of classic and contemporary art. In 1953, Dey travelled to the U.S. as a visiting professor of art. Copies of 8 letters from Zigrosser are supportive, but als

Included are two platinum (?) prints of the Ajanta Caves of western India taken by Dey in 1918, as well as two tiny prints from the 1960's.
