Joseph Richards was a New England arborist and forester who shared many interests with Carl Zigrosser: art, progressive politics, social credit and a distrust of "big government" under Franklin Roosevelt. The letters are written on circulars purchased from the New England Conservation Association, a group with an independent view of economics.
