Based on the melody Pestal which was supposedly written in prison by the Russian Decembrist revolutionary Paul Pestel but is generally attributed to J.W. Kalliwoda.
First line of text of 1st version: Yes! the die is cast! The turbid dream of life is waning. First line of text of 2nd version: Rest, thou troubled heart.
