It formed the second volume in a series of which "Politeuphuia, Wits commonwealth", 1597, usually ascribed to John Bodenham, was the first: "Wits Theater of the little world, 1599" (by Robert Allott, the third; and "Palladis Palatium. Wisedoms Pallace, 1604", the fourth. Cf. Dict. nat. biog.
