Notes:
William Smith was Provost of the College of Philadelphia from 1754-1779 and 1789-1791. This pamphlet details Smith's efforts to encourage the defence of Pennsylvania against "the French and their Savages' after the death of General Braddock, and the subsequent action taken by certain Assembly members against Smith. It also urges conferring upon him the degree of Doctor in Divinity.
