Scores marked by Eugene Ormandy in preparation for performance with the Philadelphia Orchestra (and possibly the Metropolitan Opera); markings include durations, instrumentation, and cuts.
Also included: 1 program guide ([8] p.) for a December 5, 1957 Philadelphia Orchestra performance inserted in the copy marked "Bill Smith"; 1 typewritten letter from Mary Zatzman (Director of Philadelphia Festival Chorus) to Bill [Smith] dated November 7, 1979, concerning rehearsal schedule and details, inserted in the copy marked "E. O.".
Also included: the "E. O." and "Bill Smith" copies include insertions of additional spoken dialogue in English; a typewritten note attached at the head of p. 2 states "This script has been prepared solely for the use of those soloists participating in the concert performance December 5, 1957 with the Philadelphia Orchestra under the direction of Eugene Ormandy. Any other use of this script is prohibited."
