- Biography/History:
- Herman Beerman graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with an A.B. in 1923, M.D. in 1927, and Doctorate of Science in Medicine in 1935. In 1988, he was granted the honorary degree of Master of Dermatology. At the University of Pennsylvania, he was professor of dermatology, 1951-1970 and served as head of the Department of Dermatology and Syphilology, 1953-1967. He won Dean's Award for Outstanding Achievements in 1990. The School of Medicine of the University established the H. Beerman Fellowship in dermatology in 1990. Herman Beerman is member of the American College of Physicians and the American Academy of Dermatology.
