- Biography/History:
- Charles P. Bednarik, also called "Chuck" Bednarik, graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Education in 1949. He played center on the football team of the University from 1945 to 1948. In 1949 he was elected All-American star by Associated Press, United Press, International News Service, Colliers, Look, and was also named Maxwell Memorial Player of the Year. He was elected to both the Collegiate and National Football League Halls of Fame.
