Biography/History:
Joseph Bennett Hill graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Chemistry in 1913 and a Ph.D. in 1916. He also received a Technical Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University in 1937. He joined the Sun Oil Company in 1934 and retired in 1956 as director of its department of research and development. He then joined the Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania, serving as its secretary from 1960 to 1962, its president from 1962 to 1965, and as its president emeritus from 1965 to 1991.
Summary:
Hill recalled the course work he had when he studied at the University of Pennsylvania, some anecdotes about faculty members, his first job, and his research in petroleum industry. He also discussed his life in years of post-retirement and his family.
