- Summary:
- This videotape collection actually consists of two interviews, one of D. Walter Cohen and one of his father, Abram Cohen. Both are graduates from the dental school of the University of Pennsylvania. Walter Cohen reviewed his experience as a dental student before and after WWII, the impact of war on campus, his role in organizing and teaching periodontal program, and his 11-year deanship at the dental school. One special feature of his interview was the story of Thomas Evans, an American dentist working for royal families in Europe who became later a prominent benefactor of the dental school. Abram Cohen recalled his experience as a dental student after WWI as well as his experience as a faculty member at the dental school. He highlighted his pioneering interest in periodonture and dental health education.
